Medieval Themed Weddings

For next year's March couples you may want to think about having some fun with the month of March.  It is a very popular month here in south Florida for weddings. With it's arrival and Saint Patrick's Day, it would be a perfect time to either go green for your wedding or have a medieval themed one.  For a medieval themed wedding you could incorporate your family crests on your invitations, programs and scatter it around on tables, etc.  Going green for your theme?  Think about giving packets of seeds as your party favors, and having blades of wheat grass for your centerpieces. Have your bridesmaids wear sage green dresses and add some clover in their bouquets.  You can have a lot of fun with the month of March, good luck!!!!

Announcements

One of the best ways to announce your engagement is in the newspaper.  You may also opt to place it on a website or in a newsletter.  The parents of the bride are normally the ones who arrange engagement announcements. If you live in a different state than a lot of your relatives you can place the announcement in their local paper.  In the announcement you can mention where you work, attend school, say something about yourself.  There will be a fee so be sure to inquire what it will be prior to sending it to them, and include a favorite photo of the two of you.

Your Engagement

Congratulations to all of the newly engaged couples!  Valentine's Day was a big day for a lot of you.  Now that you are engaged you are probably wondering what to do next.  Here are a few tips to help you begin:
1.  If you haven't told your family by now it is time to do so, and the way they feel about your significant other will designate how you go about telling them.
2.  You could hold a separate dinner for your families and share the news.  If they haven't met yet this would be a great time to host a dinner for them.
3.  Create a casual and inviting atmosphere for a comfortable socializing time.
Your families may begin to plan your Engagement Party that same evening.
